FROM FILE TO FINISHED
A favicon is the small icon that identifies your website in browser tabs, bookmarks and sometimes search results. Upload a clear logo or simple image, choose how it fits in a square, and create a ready-to-use package without sending your image to a server.
Drop a PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP or SVG into the tool. A simple design with a clear silhouette stays easier to recognize at small sizes.
Use Contain to keep the whole image or Cover to fill the square and crop its edges. The image stays centered. Check it on light and dark backgrounds and in the browser-tab preview.
Generate the icons, download individual files or the complete ZIP, and copy the HTML snippet into your website’s head. Place the files at the paths used in the snippet.
SMALL TOOL. USEFUL DIFFERENCE.
Get favicon.ico, 16×16, 32×32, 48×48 and 96×96 PNGs, a 180×180 Apple Touch icon, and 192×192 and 512×512 Android icons from one source image.
PNG variants provide a clear square icon for modern browsers and Google Search. ICO adds compatibility with browsers and workflows that expect favicon.ico. Search display depends on Google’s processing and is not guaranteed.
Your browser creates the previews, icon files and ZIP locally. Transparency is preserved when your source supports it, and your original image stays untouched.
A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
Answers before you hit download.
Use a square image that remains recognizable when small. This package includes 16×16, 32×32, 48×48 and 96×96 PNG favicons, an ICO, a 180×180 Apple Touch icon, and 192×192 and 512×512 Android icons. A source at least 512×512 helps avoid enlarging the biggest output; a smaller source still works but cannot gain missing detail.
Yes. Upload a PNG, choose Contain or Cover, and generate the package. Transparent areas stay transparent. A clear logo or simple symbol usually works better at favicon sizes than detailed text or a busy photograph.
Yes. This favicon.ico generator creates a real ICO file in your browser alongside the PNG icons. Download it individually or inside the ZIP; changing an image’s filename to .ico would not convert its format.
Yes. A self-contained SVG is rendered locally into the same ICO and PNG sizes. External images, fonts and other resources are not fetched. If an SVG cannot be rendered, export it as a PNG and try again.
Use the generated PNG files for explicit icon sizes and favicon.ico for broad compatibility. Add apple-touch-icon.png for Apple home-screen use. The Android PNGs can be referenced by a web app manifest if your website uses one. Include the copied HTML links that match the files you publish.
Yes, an eligible website favicon can appear in Google Search. Google requires a square image and recommends an icon larger than 48×48; this package includes a 96×96 PNG. Keep the favicon URL stable, allow Google to crawl the homepage and icon, and add an icon link to the homepage’s head. The Google Search Ready indicator describes the generated assets, not a guarantee that Google will display them.
No. The source image is read on your device. Rendering, ICO and PNG creation, and ZIP packaging all happen locally in your browser, with no image upload or account required.
Extract the ZIP and copy the HTML snippet into the head of your pages. For Astro, put the icon files in public and add the links to your shared layout. For a standard HTML website, publish the files at the site root. In WordPress, use the 512×512 PNG as the Site Icon in your theme’s site identity settings, or add the snippet through your theme’s supported head settings. If you use another folder, update each href to match.
